ASTM International’s Committee on Petroleum Products, Liquid Fuels, and Lubricants (D02) has presented its top annual award – the Award of Merit – to C. Patrick Maggi of CANNON Instrument Company in State College, Pennsylvania, U.S.A. The prestigious award, which includes the accompanying title of fellow, is ASTM’s highest recognition for individual contributions to developing standards.

The committee honored Maggi for his dedicated work to develop standards in the petroleum products, liquid fuels, and lubricants field and for tireless contributions to improving the standards development process. He has been a member of ASTM since 1996. Committee D02 previously awarded Maggi the Award of Appreciation in 2006 and the Award of Excellence in 2010.

Maggi is the president and chief executive officer of CANNON Instrument Company. He has been with the organisation since 1988, serving in a variety of capacities including engineering intern, director of engineering, and vice president and general manager.

In addition to ASTM, Maggi has been a member of the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) since 1992.
