New biodiesel phone app launched

A new phone app has been launched by the National Biodiesel Board called BiodieselNow.

The new app gives motorists the opportunity to quickly identify the nearest biodiesel fueling stations in the US, while also tracking their fuel purchases and earning rewards.

It is hoped that drivers will never be too far away from a biodiesel point, meaning that they should never break down.

The app was introduced this week at the 2013 National Biodiesel Conference, where it received a warm reception.

The app is now available for both Apple and Android devices, where it also provides valuable mapping information.

Doug Whitehead, NBB director of operations, is said to be thrilled with the new app, as he believes it will make the lives of those biofuel users far easier.

"This app puts America's advanced biofuel in the palm of your hand. We are very excited to be able to participate more actively in the mobile communication world and use the latest technology to get even more people tuned in to biodiesel," he explained on the company's website.

"As the biodiesel industry continues to advance and consumption grows, we feel it’s important to help users find those retail locations and improve communication between NBB and the industry."

In addition, those with the BiodieselNow app will be able to stay ahead of the curve when it comes to biodiesel news.

This will include when new biodiesel stations have opened, as well as new laws and regulations on biodiesel.

It also allows users to stay on top of their finances, as it logs how often they top up with biodiesel.

Every gallon of fuel purchased earns biodiesel reward points that are redeemable toward biodiesel merchandise in NBB’s online store, nbb.org reports.

According to NBB, there are hundreds of retail stations which stock biodiesel.
