Industrial Scientific-Oldham (France) is pleased to announce that the OLCT 100 fixed gas detector has been certified by the Brazilian Authorities and now carries the INMETRO mark of approval. The OLCT 100 XP and OLCT 100 have been certified as flameproof or intrinsically safe for use in zones 1 or 21, Group IIC or IIIC hazardous locations.

Designed for the detection of explosive gases, toxic gases or oxygen, the detector is offered with a Wheatstone bridge output (OLC 100) or 4-20mA output (OLCT 100). The OLCT 100 was also developed to conform to the safety standards IEC 61508 and EN 50402.

The OLCT 100 is design to meet even the most demanding applications and is available in catalytic bead, electrochemical, semiconductor and infrared sensor technologies.

The latest addition to the OLCT 100 range, the infrared sensor, allows it to be used in more severe environmental conditions, where the presence of poisons could harm the use of a catalytic cell.

This new patented IR sensor from Oldham makes the OLCT 100 XP IR one of the best and most reliable infrared detectors on the market. The OLCT 100 XP IR is SIL 2 certified and its Probability of Failure on Demand (PFD) is 0.53 x 10-3 with a yearly interval maintenance test.

With a 3-year warranty on the sensor and on the electronics, the OLCT 100 XP-IR will provide reliability and extended life.
