Lawyers of a case involving the death of six workers at a Connecticut power facility are being allowed to view the evidence from the site.
According to the Hartford Courant, items gathered from the Kleen Energy plant explosion in Middletown will be made available despite the objections of a state prosecutor.
The February 7th catastrophe also saw 26 people injured when a pocket of natural gas was ignited during the cleaning of pipelines.
Superior Court Judge Robert Holzberg noted there is "significant public interest" in allowing the legal representatives of victims hurt in the accident to view any objects taken from the scene.
Of particular interest is a large ground heater that the plaintiffs claim was very close to the location where gas had pooled and could be the cause of the flare.
Earlier this year, the Hartford Courant reported that senator John Fonfara "appeared stunned" when he asked a team of experts what state agency was responsible for safety regulations at the plant and received no answer.
