An explosion at a refinery in Canada that killed five people and risked the personal safety of others has not affected a pipeline feeding the facility.
Kinder Morgan Energy Partners, which operates the crude oil pipeline, stated the detonation last week will not interrupt services, Reuters reports.
The Tesoro Corp plant in Washington experienced the blast on Friday April 2nd when a naphtha hydrotreater ignited.
Andy Galarnyk of Kinder Morgan said: "There's been no impact on our delivery to the refinery."
"I guess the refinery is operating, other than that facility which had the explosion," he added.
The conduit has a crude capacity of 300,000 barrels a day and channels oil from the 715 mile Trans Mountain system.
Following the incident, Tesoro - which is a Fortune 100 company - noted that its intake for crude dropped to 70 per cent, meaning it only had the capacity for 120,000 barrels each day.
