Major petrol industry player BP has reiterated its promise to remain transparent over the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico.
The company said that it will work with the Department of Homeland Security and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) in releasing information to the US government and the public regarding its efforts to clean up the disaster.
Tony Hayward, chief executive for BP, made the pledge in a letter to Janet Napolitano, secretary of homeland security and Lisa Jackson, administrator of the EPA, which suggested transparency is a priority.
Mr Hayward said: "We are committed to providing the American people with the information they need to understand the environmental impact from the spill and the response steps that have been taken."
The US government is being informed of the clean-up operation from the Deepwater Horizon spill after BP launched a live webcam of the riser flow from the riser insertion tube tool technology being employed.
