The Tag & Abel methods are the latest additions to PAC’s OptiFlash product line. The OptiFlash Tag and the OptiFlash Abel with built in cooling systems detect flash points from -30°C to 120°C and comply to leading global standards such as ASTM D56, EN ISO 13736 and IP 170.

Features & Benefits

  • Significantly Improved Ease of Operation
  • Start a test by following three simple steps
  • Automatic lift-arm for hands-free cup cover installation
  • No need for the user to handle Pt100, Flash Point Sensor, Ignitor and Shutter Drive
  • Straightforward user interface
  • Supports multiple languages

Easy Cleaning

  • Simple push button to disconnect cup cover from lift arm to allow external cleaning of the cup cover
  • Remove the shutter without any tools
  • Large tilt angle of the cup cover allows easy cleaning for Pt100 and stirrer

High Safety Standards

  • Built in fire extinguisher
  • Ultra-fast optical fire detector
  • Fire detection in an extended range around the test cup
  • Test is aborted when a flash is detected outside the cup
  • Safety pre-test interval to avoid fire caused by user error
  • No sample drops from stirrer going into the heater block

Proven Performance and Robustness

  • Hands-free operation minimises risk to damage the igniter during installation and cup cover handling
  • Continuous monitoring the ignitor performance allows preventive actions to avoid down-time
  • Automatic QC procedure with QC chart on the instrument screen for trend monitoring.

PAC has over 50 years of experience in developing automatic flash point analysers for petroleum products, alcohols, solvents, chemicals, food and beverages. These newest editions are simpler to use, easier to clean, and safer to operate.

With the OptiFlash’s intuitive user interface and built-in automation, users can now easily start a test without having to spend time doing manual tasks like installing the flash point and temperature sensors or installing the test cup cover for each test. Its innovative design also makes it much easier to clean allowing the user to not only disassemble the cup cover without any tools but also to clean highly viscous samples. This improves the reliability of the test results significantly since customers can now run a quick clean before running any new sample.

“PAC made sure to instill the highest safety standards into the new OptiFlash. With its ultra-fast optical flame detector, the OptiFlash is the only instrument that can now detect a fire or even small flames in an extended range around the test cup,” says Eric Schellenberger, PAC’s President.
