Easy TOC Calibration for Monitoring Condensate and Boiler Feed Water
Oct 21 2009
The calibration and validation of the TOC analysis calibration function in measuring ranges of 0-2,000 μg/l and lower is always a difficult task for the operator. The preparation of the calibration solution takes a lot of time and requires precision.
LAR AG (Germany) offers a newly developed and patent pending gas calibration method to simplify this step. Thanks to the calibration gas the QuickTOC condensate enables and checks the calibration even in the lowest
measuring ranges at any time, without spending the usual amount of work and without the usual contamination risk from a calibration solution. Afterwards the calibration can also be verified through the calibration gas.
This innovative possibility is based on the well proven catalyst-free LAR high temperature combustion method (1200°C) which guarantees the complete decomposition of all organic compounds.
QuickTOCcondensate is using a closed valve system for the sample injection to avoid sample contaminations with ambient air. Through the special batch, processing larger sample quantities can be injected to the decomposition unit. Inert materials guarantee accurate and offset-free measuring results within the lowest measuring ranges.
The new TOC measurement system QuickTOCcondensate is characterised by extremely low maintenance requirements of only a few minutes a week. In TC mode the analyser even works without using reagents. In comparison to standard methods, the operating and maintenance costs can be reduced significantly by this remarkable innovation.
The state of the art LAR analyser is especially suitable for ultra pure and cooling water monitoring as well as boiler feed and condensate measurement, according to the regulations of the power plant industry (VGB).
