TDL Analyser Range to Expand in 2015

Jun 23 2015

Servomex’s (UK) revolutionary new MiniLaser TDL analyser has received an exceptional reception from customers globally.

As the world’s smallest cross-stack Tunable Diode Laser (TDL) gas analyser, the MiniLaser is 90% smaller and 80% lighter than comparable TDL analysers – enabling it to be installed in five easy steps by one person. The radically reduced electronic footprint of the MiniLaser is achieved through an entirely new PCB design that enables close stacking without compromising performance and functionality. The laser optics - which fire a beam between a transmitter and a receiver to detect the concentration of specified gas molecules in a sample stream - have been streamlined, with many components combined or simplified to reduce their size. The result has enabled the transmitter and receiver units to be greatly reduced in size and weight compared to the industry norm.

This innovative design is supported by a new built-in display, which removes the requirement to use a laptop for configuration and diagnostics, while improved optical performance achieves a wider beam acceptance angle. When combined with a new quick-release mechanism, fast and accurate reinstallation - without the need for re-alignment - is now possible. The MiniLaser also showcases Servomex’s new purge design, which reduces nitrogen (N2) and air purge costs by up to an impressive 90%.

With the optimised design requiring fewer materials, reductions in CO2 emissions and ecological footprint have been achieved in key environmental markers – so MiniLaser manufacture requires less extraction of raw materials, minimises use of hazardous substances and reduces pollutants.

The first MiniLaser released for sale, the MiniLaser Oxy, is optimised for the fast, accurate and responsive measurement of process oxygen in combustion and process control applications. Customer response for the Oxy has been enthusiastic, with the product receiving global orders and undergoing extensive field trials. A second MiniLaser, optimised for the measurement of ammonia, is being launched in July, with a MiniLaser optimised for combustion control to follow later in 2015.

All the advantages of the new MiniLaser are showcased on the new Servomex Analyzers YouTube Channel, which hosts sales and installation videos highlighting all the benefits of using a MiniLaser.

“The positive reception to the MiniLaser has been overwhelming,” says Dr Stephen Firth, Photometric Product Manager, Servomex.

“The installation benefits of the revolutionary design have been well received, but the improvements made under the hood, such as the redesigned purge, are receiving just as much attention.”
