Detailed Hydrocarbon Analysis of Naphtha

Apr 09 2014

Individual hydrocarbon components of spark-ignition engine fuels and their mixtures can be determined with well-known detailed hydrocarbon analysis methods such as ASTM D5134, D6729 and D6730. These methods use long, narrow bore capillary columns to meet the high resolution specifications. The analysis time, however, usually exceeds two hours. Bruker (USA) developed a fast detailed hydrocarbon analysis (DHA) method using the Bruker Fast Detailed Hydrocarbon Analyzer. The DHA Analyzer is specially designed for analysing individual hydrocarbon components, as well as oxygenates present in spark ignition-fuels and light hydrocarbon streams such as naphtha. Data showed analysis time was greatly reduced compared to conventional DHA, while separation power for high quality results was maintained.
